A clearer starting point

When stock arrives before your next move.

Temporary storage, staggered orders and shipment consolidation all need clear instructions. A warehouse arrangement should define what is received, how it is stored and who authorises its release.

Service scope

What the work involves.

01

Receiving & checks

Agree the arrival appointment, carton or pallet count and the checks required at handover. Identify visible discrepancies before goods enter storage.

02

Storage planning

Share dimensions, stackability and expected storage duration so space and handling needs can be reviewed. Special storage conditions must be confirmed before delivery.

03

Picking & release

Define the item references, quantities and release instructions for each dispatch. Discuss any packing or order preparation needed as a separate part of the scope.

04

Dispatch coordination

Align collection times, vehicle access and handover details with the next transport leg, reducing uncertainty between storage and delivery.

Freight connection

Cargo needs a storage or consolidation stage before its next transport leg.

Questions, answered

Before you get started.

Can you store any type of goods?

Share the cargo details first. Temperature-sensitive, hazardous, oversized or otherwise restricted goods require a specific suitability review; do not send them without confirmation.

Can I release stock in batches?

Describe the expected batch sizes and frequency. Release instructions, notice periods and any picking charges should be agreed with the team.

Is packing included?

Do not assume it is included with storage. Explain your packaging and labelling needs so the team can confirm the available work and price.

What stock information will I receive?

Agree the records and update frequency you need during scoping. The reporting arrangement should reflect the actual service agreed.
